And it's the hottest day of the year. At least someone else is doing the painting. ;)
Is the vino open yet?
Sigh... I really want a nice chilled drink tonight. :-(

I really fancy an Aperol Spritz. I think Aldi do their own version of Aperol ... "Aperini" Anyone tried it?

The house is getting me down. Being on crutches is getting me down. This hot weather is getting me down.

You’ve got two ‘downs’ more than me , I’ve no building work going on so I suppose that’s a +
All our building works are more or less done, it's mostly plastering, wiring, plumbing, carpentry, etc. We should have the new windows for the front of the house the week after next and then we'll be knocking the porch down and building out 2 sq metres to make a large reception hallway and we're having a steel door with glass panels at the sides and a matching garage door. Should make the front of the house look nice.

It does sound amazing, and it’ll be all yours which is even nicer
My main hope is that we have heating and hot water this winter. Last year was a struggle and this lockdown hasn't helped us move forward this year.
Question Author
Yes there’ll be hold ups with trades etc , hopefully all will fall into place like a giant jigsaw
I do hope so, Bobbi. Sourcing materials has been a big hindrance. We've only just managed to get some bags of bonding and multi-finish and the plaster boards.

There's a long way to go yet.
What are you doing, by the way? A full-scale refurb or just a bit of decorating?
Question Author
Just decorating , my son in laws a P&D and well before lockdown I was saying we were ready for a overhaul, I went online and got the paper I wanted from Laura Ashley , 50% off as they went into liquidation then just last Sunday it was “Right ,if yous strip the walls , I’ll do it this weekend “
Thankfully I got the Laura Ashley wallpaper and matching cushions (Belverdere duck egg) for one of the spare rooms before lockdown.

I got the Josette steel wallpaper for the master bedroom but wanted the matching blind for the dressing room and I doubt I'll get it.
Question Author
Hopefully you will , have you checked online already?
No luck online unfortunately. We were going to go to the store in Bentley Bridge last Sunday but ran out of time because we had to go to Curry's first to sort out my laptop which wasn't working. It's fairly new so I was quite annoyed ... turned out to be the charger.

Oh has just called to say that there's no Aperini in Aldi :-(
Question Author
Oh Dear, maybe a substitute?
I've sent him to Lidl to find some Bitterol ... ha ha !
So what's the new wallpaper like?
Question Author
Not really unlike the one we’ve taken off white background with silver pattern
Question Author
