Thats was a bit sarcastic - a plummer was my first telephone call, I just thought these sites were for help!!!!!!!!!!!!
Check that you may have two taps to open, one each end of the hose. If no joy check that water is getting to the hose. Could also be the non return valve where the hose goes into is sticking, release all pressure, remove hose and poke a small screwdriver into the valve to release it.

My filling loop for the combi boiler has two taps. One is the type that you can turn a quarter of a turn with your hand. The other is one of those that you can only turn on with a screwdriver (turn it so the slot lines up with the direction of water flow.

Best find where the pressure loss is coming from though if it happens again. If it's under the floorboards - good luck! I only found my leak when I noticed a small damp patch in the ceiling, but it took ages to appear. A tiny leak can cause the pressure drop and can take a long time to show up.
