Hi my friend has moved to a new property. The stair carpet that's been left is good quality. But there are lots of splashes of dried emulation paint . Any tips how to remove them ?

emulsion?
First thing to do is check that it's actually paint.

It may just be copying the real thing.
Have a look on Youtube. Lots of paint removal methods there.

oops predictive text emulsion yes sorry :(
On the occasion I had spilt paint I replaced the carpet. Good luck finding a fix.
Is the carpet 100% synthetic or wool ?
Get some rough sandpaper and give it a light rub. This has worked many times for me in the past.
Emulsion is water-based so should scrub out using a brush, water and detergent. There might be a stain left depending on the colours of the paint and carpet.
^^^ Yes - I used Turtle Wax cleaner & stain remover. Comes with its own scrubber (fnar, fnar). Worked well but might leave the cleaned are lighter than the rest of the carpet.
