wow, what lovely pics, i love this season so much, especially here at the moment, its bright and sunny with a clear sky, but freezing!

you are quite the photographer!!

Great pictures andyjevs. I think the whole country has been experiencing these heavy frosts but we don't all have jobs that give as good an opportunity for photographing the results as yourself.

BTW I visited 'your' rock garden twice in October but there was no sign of a gardener. I thought he had gone into hibernation but these excellent photos prove that not to be the case.

Lastly, the elms, How did they survive the Dutch Elm Disease? Up here in Fife, we no longer see mature elm trees, just a few saplings. Is the Cornish elm immune?

Some people might not agree, but Frost is truly one of natures marvels.
Lovely pictures Andy. It's been cold here on the east coast but we haven't had such glorious frosts as Brighton.

Thanks for the comments guys.

Gen....we do lose the odd Elm but both Brighton and Eastbourne are the last towns with a good collection therefore a stringent DED practice is in operation.
We did lose a large cornish elm this year....it got on the local news and i'm pretty sure that one of the few remaining huge English Elms has DED too.....i just prey i'm wrong as it really is a majestic specimen at around 300 years old.
Next time you're in the garden, give me a bit of advance notice on here and i'll show you round.

Andy

Brilliant picture Andy - I know it's cold & frosty, but winter brings with it such beautiful scenery.

Beautiful pics andy! My garden looks much lovelier than it feels!

I love blue spruce, I keep saying I'm going to treat myself to one - which do you think is the best variety?

Absolute magic Andy, and many thanks for sharing them with us.

Roninia....one of the nicest is Picea Pungens 'Koster' ....slow growing but well worth it.
Of course, you could always get a small one and bosai it !!! ;-)

Thanks very much andy, I've made a note of that - if it stays this cold all winter everything will be bonsai!!

lovely photos..I think the frost and snow is really awesome to look at..
I saw some lovely photo opportunities this weekend when my husband drove us from London to Devon and back again. If I could of walked the journey both ways I would of come back with 1000's of photos. There was frosty fields with fluffy white sheep with new born lambs and I saw a field of just pure white ponies in a frosty pure white field. There was beautiful autumn trees. It would of been brilliant to take photos, they are not the same though travelling at high speed from a car window.
