Has never happened before but my cat has had diarrhoea on my gorgeous light grey medium pile bedroom carpet. I’ve tried liquid washing power in warm water, I’ve tried soap, liquid soap, but it’s only removed it slightly and the carpet looks awful. Anything else I can try??

1) get rid of the cat. 2) get new carpet. 3) buy a rug .
Carpet vanish spray... it got an entire can of coke off my mum's cream carpet (thanks to nephew :-))
Soak it and put a towel down and put loads of books on top to soak it up. Repeat until it's gone.
Ensure the cat does not get dehydrated .

Omg anneasquith! That made me laugh.

This happened yesterday. Will soaking the carpet and the towel thing still work as it’s dried?
(If not then Vanish it is...)
I wouldn't put too much soaking on a carpet... especially with underlay, you might get it soaking back through to the carpet at some point (from experience...) x
"Soak it and put a towel down and put loads of books on top to soak it up. Repeat until it's gone."

Is that for the cat or the carpet?

LOL!
He he he,.;*)
Try soda water to wet, do not rub, soak up with towel. Let dry then vanish carpet cleaner or a cleaner for pet stains. Can’t remember name but will try to find it
Lol.

I don't mean saturate it...clean it with cleaner and then put the towel down and weigh it down so it soaks up the stain.
Vanish has a pet one available on Amazon
Soap powder in warm water
Having had similar experiences, this Dyson carpet cleaning product is great (if a little pricey):
