My flatmate has just seen a massively cockroach climbing up his bedroom wall. He chucked it down the loo. Now I'm really worried about infestation in the flat. Any advice?! I have a cleaner although she doesn't go in his room.

Beside the point, but did you know Cockroaches have been on Earth totally unchanged since before the age of Dinosaurs ?? One of Natures most successful life forms !
If cockroaches are in one flat in a block they are usually not confined to that one flat. I would advise you to let the landlord/managing agent know post haste so that all flats can be treated....and while they are ..er ....not nice I would suggest capturing the next one that is found and keeping it to show...I would be alerting the neighbours too.
