Naomi there are a lot to choose from which one do you have..
Funny, I don't care so much for my Gtech anymore either. It does nothing for all the pet hair. I'm better off hoovering the cat!
Here are WHICH first three Best Buys for you Emmie.
Dyson Cyclone V10 Absolute 81%,
Dyson V8Absolute 79%,
Dyson V6 (Cheapest) 75%
Have a look at each and see which you think would suit you best.
I've just bought a Gtech Air-Ram because of pet hair when my dog moults quite badly in the summer, judging by what a couple of you say, it won't do much good. I believed all the hype on the ads.!

they come in at a lot of money. The dyson are supposed to be good i know. for middle of range expect to pay 250/300 pounds.
Wish I'd got a Dyson now !
The Dyson V6 is circa £199.
The other top Best Buy at 81% is Bosch Athlet Ultimate BCH732KTGB at circa £300.
I've got a G-Tech and am very happy with it so far but I don't have pet hair to contend with. How long have you had your G-Tech?
HiA, Gtech Air-Ram gets only 57% on the WHICH website.
I've only just bought it Fox, as my Vax just couldn't cope last summer with my dog's moulting hairs and I thought it may be an improvement for next summer. That's not very good is it only 57%, blimey ! It's been ok so far obviously, but next summer will be the real test. Oh well, I could always save up for a Dyson ...
I've got an older Gtech...have had it about 4 years. I found it left a lot of residual hair on carpet. I could scrape my foot over rugs and get more fluff...after vacuuming. Cleaning all the fuzz out of the brushes is also a messy pain.
I got a hand held one too (it was part of the deal) and this has a very powerful suction. I thought I could go over the carpet again with the hand held one where the upright may not pick up all the hairs and hope this may be enough. I like the way the upright empties pasta and have had no problems with that, not had it long though.
My question was actually to emmie as she said the G-Tech wasn't working too well. I've had mine for 20 months and, so far, so good but it does need emptying a lot and the filter gets very clogged very quickly.

i looked at Argos and the V10 Dyson come in at a hefty
£445 or so. Seems a lot for a piece of kit i won't use that often.
ouch
Question Author
ouch indeed, i considered it but it too much money to be honest. I don't vacuum all that often but the g tech for some reason deposits dirt over the carpet as you get started, not the best thing i ever bought. I complained to G Tech and their suggestions ranged from cleaning the filters, i did, to taking the thing apart, because dirt might be caught in the upright, i didn't do that, too much like hard work.
it has to be lightweight, cordless and around 200 quid, which the earlier versions of Dyson can be.
always said i wouldn't buy a Dyson but maybe its time.
We bought a Vax after having several Dysons. Then went back to Dyson.
Question Author
i have the dyson V10 come in at over 560 quid. double ouch.
Question Author
do they come with the battery charger? or do you have to buy that separate.
