Its really gross to talk about but a few weeks ago I started to notice pain in my left ear. Extreme itchiness and trouble hearing , feeling like I had water in my ear, are also symptoms. Well today I was scratching the inside of my ear and noticed a white yellowish substance on my finger which I have come to realize was puss. I stuck a Qtip in my ear and pulled it out and it isn't just a thin liquid. the infection is causing the puss to be really thick and cakey looking.. Puss is coming from my ear.. and its hard to hear out of it. I need to go to the doctor again and im going to in the next few days but im honestly kind of scared as to what they are gonna say is wrong with my ear. any ideas as to what it is???

Sounds like a small abcess, I expect you will be prescribed some antibiotics, stop putting cotton buds in your ears and it's pus with one s, I hate to think you might have a yellow cat in your ear.
Yes it is almost certainly an infection in the outer ear (otitis externa) or it could be a furuncle ( boil in the outer ear)
Both painful but no big deal.
It will need a swab taking to identify the organism responsible ( fungus or bacteria) and then cleaning out (possibly by an ENT surgeon and drops or a dressing inserted.
You will also be tested for diabetes.
I hope that my answer wasn't too rude for you tamaris.

I just have this vision of a cat in the ear, refusing to come out and batting away swabs with it's paw. Lord only know how puss got in there :-D
Please don't put Qtips in your ear. Something like that can cause an infection. It is said you shouldn't put anything smaller than your elbow in your ear.
it's possible that you may have an ear infection. The pain, itchiness, trouble hearing, and the presence of pus are all indicative of an infection. It's important to consult with a healthcare professional who can examine your ear and provide an accurate diagnosis. They will be able to determine the specific cause of your symptoms and recommend appropriate treatment, which may include medication or ear wax removal. Try not to worry too much and seek medical attention for a proper evaluation and guidance.
