Hello flooring experts!!

Does anyone know whether it would be possible to put vinyl flooring (lino to us commoners) in a bathroom where water will go directly onto the floor in a wetroom-esque stylee?

I'm only an interested bystander and certainly no DIY expert but would you not need to seal the floor and about 6 inches up the wall with some sort of waterproof membrane? Something like a garden pond liner material perhaps, before even thinking about decoration. I'm probably talking nonsense but will keep an eye on this post because I've been considering the same thing. Good luck.
My Mom has just had her bathroom converted into a wetroom and the flooring is a rubberised type vinyl and has been sealed so it doesn't leak through.I would think ordinary vinyl(lino) would not be adequate. Do you have a Wickes DIY near to you. They have loads of leaflets in store telling you how to go about all sorts of DIY jobs. They will very likely have one on what you want.
