I can understand how you won't think that it does, though.
Something of a 'first world' problem.
It doesn't matter to me, because I don't know who they are. I also do not see why it takes 2 people to present the news. The salary bill could be cut substantially if this were stopped.
It matters because once again the woman with more experience has been overtaken by the less experienced man. So the woman remains in the passenger seat and not driving.

Institutionalised discrimination going on before our very eyes and if she hadn't spoken out we would be none the wiser.

I never knew the left hand side was the prized position. I'm sure I don't think of the person seated there to be more superior than the other when I watch the news. On my local news the woman is always on the left. I don't think it matters.
I expect they pick the side which favours their profile.
Still, women are stoned for alleged adultery, young boys are hung for being raped but let's start a petition about this.

It does seem to matter to the Munchkin, but not to many others, could be dismissed as just another luvvy hissy fit but in light of the disclosure that Camera Left is the Dominant Position, first time I've heard that btw, she has a point and should do an immediate flounce unless things are changed to suit her wishes.

Like Jourdain, I have ever heard of them either. Switch the telly off and put on Radio 4....the pictures are much better, and a lot less irritating !
