Perhaps that's why it's creased so much....hasn't been opened in 50-odd years?
Seriously though....use a WARMISH iron on the creases, with a teatowel between iron and PVC.

'went out in the 50s'...? Oh no, they're very trendy now, John Lewis have a choice of over 60 designs to buy by the metre.
I agree, warmth will help the creases disappear but it might take a bit of time.
