What To Use Instead Of Gloss Paint?

What do people use nowadays instead of gloss paint? I'm wanting to paint a bathroom door, door frame, skirting boards, window sills. I don't have a problem with it but hubby said it is so old fashioned now! What's the alternative for jobs like these?

well if hubby doesn't want gloss, what does he want? Mine are glossed.

Oil based eggshell is in vogue at the moment. Rub down, tack off and give it two coats.

Try satinwood paint

If it's white, satinwood keeps its colour longer than gloss.which tends to yellow over time.

I still think gloss gives a better finish than the others.
