Anyone got any suggestions how to clean the inside of a microwave quickly and easily, without too much hard work?!

I heard microwaving a glass of water with a few segments of lemon in it for a couple minutes, will soften all of the dried bits in there, and allow it to be cleaned with just a few wipes of a cloth.

Worth a try.
You need to fill up a container and boil it for ages to steam clean it. Keep checking the water hasn't boiled to nothing.
i find about 5 mins works well and using vinegar or lemon in the water helps with any odours
Once a week saucer of water (hot) in micro, turn on for 3 mins, take care when removing, and wipe inside of micro, job done.
Sorry to state the obvious but wipe it clean every time you use it. Now why can't I follow my own advice :-)

I microwave a dish half full with hot water and a little lemon juice for a minute until steaming.  Remove with care and then wipe the inside clean.  Easy.  Following on from the above, each time I do this I SWEAR that I will wipe out each time but never do.

Thanks guys, will try that tomorrow. I always mean to clean it out every time, but... and then my partner uses it too and explodes baked beans in there! I'm sure there is a whole new species living in there at present...
One piece of advice I do follow is to cover everything. Despite following instructions baked beans and many other things do tend to "explode" but a cover greatly reduces the number of splashes.
