New Baize For Card-Table

I have an old card table, and plenty of baize. How do I stick the fabric to the wood without the smallest risk of the adhesive coming through the baize ? What adhesive do I need ?

I wouldn't know but if you have plenty of baize then you can afford to experiment.

A fabric glue should be safe, but maybe there is a better choice ?

If I'd not read that answer I've linked to above, my own way of doing it would have been to spread a thin layer of Copydex over the top of the table, allow it to dry to a 'tacky' state (so that it can't soak into the baize) and then apply the baize:
