I have an H.W. & Co wash hand basin, jug, soap dish and powder dish. The trade mark is Modena. I am not sure if this is Hawley Webberley & Co or Hancock Wittingham & Co as the web does not help me. Both companies were around 1880 and made blue and white products. Modena throws up either the town in Italy of the Ferrari Modena car !. any thoughts ??

If both potters used the same initials, you might be better off searching for their "marks". There are lots of sites relating to British Potter Markings. The fact that you have the pattern name "Modena" should also help to narrow your search down.
I often wonder why people post a question asking for assistance on some subject, and then they never respond to a suggestion whether it be helpful to them or not. And they're obviously still around: see the question above this one.
I don't know why I put that last sentence in:)

Stuey, a bit critical. You only posted suggestion yesterday and with the best will in the world it does take time to trawl through all of the Internet information you suggested ( for which I am very grateful of course) If indeed I do discover anything which might provide an answer to my question, rest assured you will be the first to hear of it !!

Are they like those ^^^ David, I notice the sellers name is David as well.
