Thanks woofgang..What is the site you used to do that,mr lozzzz has taken loads of photo of the plants in our garden,I could do that too.

Hi lozzzz I'm really not an expert I'm afraid - I just love gardening, well reading about it a lot anyway!!  I wish I'd got into it when I was young (& fitter) I might have been a tv gardener by now!  It just happened through necessity & I amazed myself how I could actually learn so many latin names.  (My ex-husband says he never saw me becoming a keen gardener, mmm I never saw him in the garden!!) My garden isn't what I'd really like it to be but I have to plan for the future which means making it easier.  I'll get son no 2 to put some pics on my comp - I'm hopeless. He's created his own (& other people's) website I'll see if he can do something for me & will share them as soon as I can!

mullein has some pics that you can see on here but I don't know where at the moment.

Come on woofgang - February pics in August? That's not good enough!! Lovely though!

If anyone has ever been to Brighton on the A23, there's a large park called Preston park. Opposite that, there's a huge rock garden with a large pond and big waterfall. I'm the head gardener there. If anyone knows how i can get pics up, or add a link, i'll take some photos next week.

Unfortunately, my back garden currently resembles a battle zone. I'm building a new 3,000 gallon koi pond which will also site my vast bonsai collection and japanese garden ornament collection.
Once its complete (probably around bonfire night) i'll take pics.

Its a web hosting firm called Fashosts. I had it for a christmas pressie from Mr W

Now that does sound professional andy!!

This is some rock garden!!  When you've done your garden you can do mine please - I'd love a Japanese style area!

sorry for going off track slightly, but I am just in the process of doing a Japanese style area in my front garden, I am going to include ornamental grasses, but need something quite tall at the back of this area, this is closest to the house so don't want anything with invasive roots - have any of our 'experts' got any idea what I plant?

Andyjevs - we passed Preston Park just the other week, we went to Brighton to see the Sand Sculptures, didn't stop off at the park though - wish we had now, it looks great.
I remember visiting Samares Manor in Jersey,in the late 80s,and it had the most beautiful Japanese garden that I had ever seen. The feeling of peace and tranquility was amazing.I just wanted to sit there all day. You're very talented andy,if you are responsible for something like that.

Not a patch on Preston Park which is beautiful.
How's parker lozzzz? Hope you managed to clean him up after his rolly poohlies!! Shane has been to the groomer today and smells quite nice for a change!!
That's the park i look after Robinia. There's eight stepping stones going over the pond and a few more that go over the waterfall too. It's an amaizing garden which i'm very proud to look after.

So you should be andy it's lovely!  Hope there's a robinia growing in there somewhere!

That's a lovely garden you have shaneystar! I'm going to call my son later to see if he can sort some pics out for me.  Knowing him though, he's probably down a cave!

Oops missed you out Jules - it would help to know how much space you have & whether it's sunny area etc.  With Japanese style the thing seems to be just a few well spaced plants or shrubs.
lozzzz...i havnt got a clue how to put a picture on here..i do have some pictures in my computer photo album and they are on...    http://groups.msn.com/herbwitch    when you go into that site their is an index on the left.. one says pictures  go into that and mine is about the fourth down titled mulleingarden..
steve d..thats a nice tidy garden dont think i had better put mine on..as its not that neat...
I've just had a look at your pics mullein ..They are lovely.
SteveD's garden is nice ,lovely and tidy.It must be huge if that is just a bit of it. I am looking for low maintenance now.We have such a lot of shrubs that need cutting back all the time.
We have that lovely ceanothus Puget Blue which is a picture in the spring but boy does it grow!!

Glad you liked the picture.  That was the back garden bit.  Here is the front bit:

Yes that's lovely Steve - a lot neater than mine!  Like you shaneystar, I have lots of shrubs which tend to romp a bit but sometimes I quite enjoy snipping bits off!! I see the garden spiders have been out in force overnight, I could hang my washing on some of the threads!
