Mic and I have been married over 34 years. When either of us used the bathroom we never commented on what we did whilst in there. To us it was go in close the door and come out when you have finished doing what you went in to do in the first place.
Since Mic has been home he is having toilet trouble. Today I was asked before he had his stroke did he have trouble urinating. I said don't know.
What do you mean you don't know. My answer, we never discussed such matters. He said after 34 years you never spoke of these things. No said I.
Please tell me it's not just us.

It's not just you. We don't either. People don't normally discuss these habits unless they suspect something is wrong.
As you may know, I was married for a similar amount of time and toilet issues were only mentioned if a problem arose.

For example if one or the other was constipated, if only in order to explain why the visits were more frequent or prolonged. As it turned out my husband's illness vegan with such an issue ( a precursor to his bowel cancer), we were very open about things generally.
I don't think for a moment it is just you. Some folk are very open about their issues, especially if one or both has issues they can't really hide. Others feel it is too private a matter.
^ began, sorry
Mr Cake and I often share a bathroom for night time ablutions.
It isn't odd, I do not want the details of OH poodums.

Just coming up to 30 years together, not something ever talked about unless something was wrong, you just get on and do it.
Not just you. After 15 years it's probably our only taboo topic. We have our own bathrooms and am not sure we'd tell each other about a toilet problem. We're all different, don't think you'd be the only one at all Jeza.
I don't know anything about OH's toilet habits except that he takes a magazine or newspaper in with him, same as my dad. I've never known a woman take in something to read.
We don't comment on anything else about it.
Good grief, I have no idea about OH's movements and no wish to! Nor would I inflict him with mine, so no Jeza you are in the majority
No,Jeza, it's not just you by any means. Any couple thats been together for any length of time would refrain from talking about it out of respect for each others privacy unless there was something wrong. Then it would be common sense to inform, if not exactly discuss with, ones partner in case it turned out to be serious medical problem. From what you've written I would imagine the questioner to be somebody medical and would assume that they are trying to rule out any prostate problems. Whatever the outcome I hope it's not bad news.

If he had any problem in the toilet department he never told me, nor I him. The doc was amazed that we didn't confide in each other.
I think we may be wandering away from the point here - the Doctor wondered about earlier problems, surely couples discuss problems?

I don't expect general chit chat about normal bladder and bowel movements is what he had in mind.
Crossed posts there sorry, secrecy when a quick mention of a problem could help is counter productive.
anything abnormal , id say would be discussed.
In my house bathrooms are private places - always - but if there's a problem we'd have no hesitation in talking about it.

Not if your name is Mic Anne.
Sorry, I think I misunderstood. If there is a problem I would tell my partner and I would expect him to tell me.
Jeza, we're all beginning to wonder now what we or other halves are not saying. Love to you both
Men can be like that Jeza, just very private about those sorts of things...as you probably well know.

No we don't discuss , unless something odd happens.
