Went to the supermarket today (free parking on Sundays) £29 something opened my bag, no purse, do you have a credit / debit card. Yes Says I in my purse. Tell me you've done it too.

I have, twice!
I have also had to get a taxi home with shopping, and run indoors for a spare car key, as my dear OH let the car lock itself.

Yes..I did in ASDA once....but the till chap knew me well and confirmed I was a regular customer and left my details and watch as security..I returned a few hours later to pay

I have, but luckily I keep an emergency £20 in the back of my bus pass.

Nope. I got a taxi to M&S, did the shopping, and at the check-out found I'd left my cards at home. So, a taxi back to get the cards, then back to the shop, re do the shopping and another taxi. I spent more on transport than on food.

They put my cold stuff in the fridge and left the rest in the trolley. I said I'd be back in ½ an hour. Told me not to feel bad as it happens often.

I have done it once, but thankfully it was at the local small supermarket and i was at the till manned by my neighbour. She was an absolute star and paid for me! I popped round with the money later that evening. What a cherub.

This has given me an idea, fill a card with xmas saving stamps in the store of your choice, and DO NOT keep in your purse.
