Removing paint

We have hollow wooden doors with sapele face and the last owner of this house decided to paint one of them with white gloss!!  Does anyone know how to remove this and restore the door to its original finish?

Not sure if sapele is too delicate to survive this treatment but there are companies out there that can dip doors in mild acid to strip off paint. Or maybe I don't know what I'm talking about!

It'll be easire to get a new door, sapele doors aren't expensive.

From my son, who is a professional decorator: - Use Nitromorse. Most decorating stores will sell it, and you can get it from Wilkinsons if you have one of these (cheaper). You might need a couple of cans, and read the instructions carefully.

we too have hollow sapele finish doors and the veneer is very thin. Be prepared for the nitromors to damage it....
