I would like my bathroom re painted.
That's ceiling & half walls as the other half is tiled.
Have been quoted £300 does that sound reasonable?

Sounds a bit dear unless Michaelangelo's doing the ceiling.

how big is your bathroom?
I would tend to do it myself....you could do it for about £50 plus your time
you live in a mansion ????
It sounds a lot to me, unless it's very high and he needs scaffold.

That's one big bathroom by the sound of it!
lol douglas...made me smile :o)

No is just larger that average as I have a free standing shower to accommodate. No high ceilings.

Mazie - I have always done it myself up till now but my health will no longer allow it, that's why I am unsure how much it would cost as I have never had to get a man in before!
I thought it sounded a but much.
I'd get a couple of comparative quotes if I were you, millie
think another quote might be a good idea ;)
Aww. that's a shame silliemillie, must p*ss you off not being able to do it yourself. Does sound a lot though. Maybe get another couple of quotes. Good luck with it. let us know how it goes. xxx

Yes I will get another quote or 2 but I just wanted to make sure I wasn't being tight!
Question Author
yes Mazie, it is frustrating I can no longer do it, I used to enjoy it too.
Are you supplying materials?
Well millie, we are in the process of doing our kitchen...So come tomorrow I will think of you...And then I'll think why the hell am I doing this at my age :o)

Even including VAT I reckon it should be much closer to £200
Just a suggestion could age concern help they have volunteers to do jobs
I have just decorated my own bathroom paint for ceiling £13. ( lot left)
I paid £7.50 for wallpaper one wall half tiled, not so easy now like yourself
took me much longer, do try local group ? church salvation army certainly
don't pay £300 its a rip off good luck
Question Author
Ferlew - yes I was going to supply paint.
Bordeax- That's a good idea! I might try that.
I am so used to doing everything myself that I don't know where to go for help when I need it.

Thanks for all your help everyone
I got my kitchen plastered for £250 so £300 for painting sounds very expensive.
If you are supplying the paint can you not get a friend, family member or neighbour to do it for the price of a drink or takeaway. Please don't pay anyone £300 that's just ridiculous.
