Any ideas for what to plant in tubs etc. next year - the last two years I've spent loads on bedding plants that haven't looked good at all - I'd like something that will flower/grow permanently - I've already bought one clump of pinks and intend to get more, also got marigold seeds - I just fancy something different next year, though I would continue with geraniums as they add colour - any suggestions?

Lavender. Lots of plants in the shops at the moment - ours has done brilliantly this year.
Why are you buying annuals when you want AYR?

It is difficult to advise as you seem a bit muddled about what you want to achieve through the year.
I like a few pots filled with herbs the Thymes always look lovely
We also grown shedloads of nasturiums each year - yes they're annuals, but they self-seed and grow brilliantly.

Thanx for all your help - lavenders sound good, as well as suggestions on the Alan Titchmarsh site Love nasturtiums too boxtops, and have grown them several times but they got 'attacked' by cabbage white butterflies then the caterpillars ate the leaves!
