I need a good floor cleaner... like *really* good.

I usually use the Ecover products, but I want something that's gonna give a really deep clean, and it's not my floor so I'm not bothered too much about chemicals and nasties.

It's to clean lino, and I'm thinking a scrubbing brush would do a better job than a mop, so something I could use neat perhaps, and possibly something soapy?

Any idea/suggestions would be greatly received.

TIA (have to go out).

You are talking as if you are wanting to irradicate an unnamed invader!!!

Are you wanting to clean or irradicate?
I use bleach in boiling water.
If you're willing make the effort to go the scrubbing brush route, I'd suggest Cif and those green pot scourers. Brings up a treat my cream lino tiles in the kitchen that have had fats and grease from the cooker trampled into them. Rinse well.
Flash is really good, or Sugarsoap
My neighbour bought a steam cleaner, swears by it for her kitchen tiles and lino.
sugar soap. is iT good for lino, diluted or not ? TIA
Diluted and it's very good.

Thanks for the responses. I've got a bottle of cif, you know, the creamy stuff that used to be called Jif.
Anyway, I'm armed with a scrubbing brush and about to tackle the floor.

No unnamed invaders (although that did make me chuckle!) just want to give the floor a really good scrubbing.

Thanks again.
mmmmmm, scrubbers lol.
come round to mine when you're done
Why on earth are you cleaning someone else's floor?!

All finished now, and it looked very clean and sparkly once I'd finished.

It was a bit of a pain trying to get rid of the cif, as I think I used a bit too much and I ended up with a very chalky floor. Would have been ideal to just get the garden hose on it, but not very practical so had to rely on lots and lots of buckets of water and a mop!

Anyway, it's all done, and my arm is KILLING... so no, I won't be doing anyone else's thank you very much :-)
ive just used, neat sugar soap on grubby lino ( dog ! ) sprayed, leave for 5 mins, rubbed off with scourer, big difference :) bit of elbow grease needed though .

What exactly is sugar soap? Is it something you buy, or make up?

I tell you what though, getting down and giving it a good scrub makes such a difference. It looked like new once I'd finished!
