being white, i have some things that have gone rather a manky shade
of grey, is there anything that you can use in the washing machine
to get them looking clean and white again, some articles went pink as well, which was annoying, that was an item i didn't think the dye would come out of, and it did.

Question Author
is it a type of powder..
Does anyone remember Blue Bags? I used them for nappies..so white. Wonder if they would get clothes back to white or just keep them white? x

that is interesting, i have lost count of the things i have binned as they just looked yucky...
For the future, a friend of mine always washed whites separately and this stopped them going grey.
I managed to put some black socks in with some whites recently. I managed to get the grey tinge out of the white work blouses with Glo White but it only works on certain materials. The satin bra straps and weave stayed grey (despite being immersed in a bucket with 2 sachets of Glo White) I have had luck getting pink out of clothes with colour run remover (I can`t remember the brand but you can buy it in supermarkets/hardware stores)
I have to say that I've found Vanish oxy action white really good at getting OH's white work shirts back to white from grey.

i used to wash whites separately, but i don't have that many, so you end up with two articles in the washing machine, sometimes i have taken the chance and like last time the items came out pink.... i hate pink
Question Author
any of these products, do you use that alone, or with the washing powder...

thank you, that is useful.
I often have too few items to do separate washes so I use Dyson colour catcher sheets and they seem to work. I know it's not going to help now but might be an idea for future
gness, remember having a laundry lesson in how to use blue bags.
Also taught how to iron a man's shirt and the use of starch.
So much for a grammar school education.
Shame we had no lessons in seduction.
Mostly taught by nuns, Daisy...no seduction lessons either but I can weave a hair shirt...:-( x
Worked it out for myself.
Then taught in a convent!
