Hi. I have a fitted bathroom unit housing a Jacuzzi toilet with slow close seat. The seat is loose and there is no visible access to tighten the loose nut. I have removed the panel with the toilet press flush but the panel around the toilet basin appears to be fixed. Can anyone help please?

I'm guessing you have a "back to wall" WC pan?
If so, it usually means taking the pan off the wall to get your hand in through the rear of the pan.

No Builder, its not against the wall, its mounted in front of a sealed wooden unit with all the gubbins behind a panel. The toilet stands in front of the unit but appears to be attached to it.
Dratted nuisance aren't they TB - next bathroom I spec is going to have a freestanding pan, preferably with an old fashioned syphonic cistern (or, even better, an overhead one).
Haha....... I know just what you mean Dave ;o)

Dunwerkin, can you see the outlet spigot on the pan. That's the 100mm diameter bit sticking out the back, where the soil pipe connects?

I've taken a photo of it but I can't work out how to attach the pic !!
There's no facility on here for pic attaching, Dunners. The usual thing is to load it into Photobucket or any of the other free pic sites.

Thanks Builder. I have a Dropbox account and here's the link with the pic

Yes, that's a "back to wall" pan. It doesn't actually have to be a "wall" :o)

Unless that panel behind slips out (unlikely), the pan most likely has to be pulled out to get at the seat gubbins.
Shot in the dark but is there two chrome like tubes at the back of the seat, if so check the ends you may find that there is a grub screw that needs to be tightened, ( thats how mine is fitted) .
Luckily, it doesn't look as though the pan has been siliconed-in. Undo the fixing screws in the base of the pan

Cor Blimey - this sounds like a job for a man and No.1 son has just returned home from the pub ! There's lucky.....
Check KJN's idea first. Worth a try.

Otherwise, it's not such a big job as you would think. Re-attaching the soil pipe before re-fitting is the fiddly bit.

Thank you for your suggestions. I'll have a good look to see if it can be fixed easily. Otherwise I will have to lower the under-carriage with care in future and not wriggle around ! All the best. J x
