We seem to have a bee's nest in the eaves, just near our front door. I'm not sure whether anything needs to be done about it or not, but OH seems to think there might be a danger of the bees coming in the house or attacking people entering or leaving the house. Any advice would be welcome please.

If it is a bee's nest then contact a bee keeper...local council should tell you. I did that and she came and collected them. May depend on the type of bee but do ask them...they were really helpful. x

Thanks for that helpful suggestion, gness. Will see if I can find a local bee-keeper who will come and deal with them.
Please do, the country is desperately short of bees right now. Any bee keeper will bite your arm off to take a swarm off your hands. My brother in law keeps bees and lost 3 of his 4 hives over the winter. Bee keepers are finding it very hard right now.
Danger of bees coming in to your house is minimal if they have found a suitably nesting point externally. Unlikely they will attack assuming they have a clear and uninterrupted flight path to their new nest.

Google beekeeper associations for your locality and you'll be assisted.
