A quick fix please for getting non-drastic stains from inside, also outside where gas flames have made marks

Boil with some biological soap powder for inside and soak in same for outside. Then if necessary use a plastic scourer for the rest.

There's a cleaner especially for cleaning stainless steel called Astonish. I highly recommend this. I once burned rice into charcoal and this Astonish was the only non-abrasive cleaner that worked to restore the pot like new again.

I use this one - http://tinyurl.com/q2bhx53

It also comes in liquid form but I haven't tried it as yet - http://tinyurl.com/pt7qo7a
Don't know if it's too late but boil up some rhubarb in the pot - it will look like new afterwards. The pot that is, not the rhubarb !!
