True, the pince-nez don't suit him.
I would plant in around April/May and I usually soak the seeds overnight to give them a soften up first,gets them off to a better start like dried peas!!
You will probably find a lot have self seeded from last year, and will appear when the ground starts to warm up.
If you were here in the U.S., the magic number would be 50. Fifty degrees Fahrenheit (or its equivalent in Centigrade) is the needed soil temperature for proper germination of Nasturtiums... (Try the leaves in a salad, by the way... great!)

self seed grow and multiply....always digging up and giving away....
yep mine too, but that's only the seeds I don't gather.... I plant them when the risk of frost is over, as they are watery plants and a frost will see them off.
