why do my aloe vera house plants have mould growing on top of soil

my aloe vera houseplants have just been repotted and seem to have a mould growing on top of soil why is this and how can i stop it .

this could be due to a fungus in the soil.  I had a similar problem with my Aloe Vera plant but in my case I had overwatered it and nearly lost the plant.  They need very little water so if you are watering it regularly, this may be the cause.  I scraped off the mould on mine after it dried out, put some fresh compost on the top and topped it off with some pebble stones (the type you buy in nets in supermarkets/hardware stores). hope this helps with your question.
