Rowanwitch helped me last time but dont know if she is about.
Amaryllis that was almost dead - have followed her advice and now has 3 bright green leaves, two are about 8/9 inches long and one is over a foot long. Longer leave is flopping down as is so long so am supporting it with a little stick. Question is it has no flower stem, just these leaves, so do I just leave it now and see what happens??

let it grow all summer. feed it and keep it damp. In the autumn when it gets cooler stop the watering and let the leaves dry off and let the pot dry completely. Store in a cool place. In the spring start watering and put in a warm sunny place to start it growing again. It may not flower then, but just do the same thing every year, grow all summer rest in the winter and it will gather strength and flower again. keep it potbound.

Ahh, well I got it last year and have dont that this spring, just like you and rowan said. So do you think it may take a year or two before it gets a flowering stem again??
-- answer removed --
If it was failing this year before you recued it, it might take a year off. Once you get it into an annual regime, it should flower every year, mine do.

Great, thanks. It was bought for me last autumn and so when it died off I was gona throw it till rowan suggested otherwise. Now the leaves it has ar lovely and healthy so I will persevere!
If you feed it with a plant food like miracle gro which is for flowering plants it may still produce a flower stem... especially if it gets enough warmth and light

Yes I have some of that and the plant is on a really sunny windowsill (when the sun is out) so will give that a go as well. Thanks
I read somewhere that an Amaryllis will only re-flower if it produces 7 leaves or more, so keep watering and feeding it this year and hopefully next year you'll get another flowerstalk.
