GLASS SHOWER SCREEEN WITH RUBBER SEAL AT BASE

I have a glass shower screen which has a rubber seal at the base to stop any water from spilling on to the bathroom floor. This seal slides along the base of the screen and is held in place by a small piece of metal and a screw. The screw is impossible to move. Any tips on how I can remove this rusted in screw. ANY ideas will be most welcome. Thanks

Will be watching your replies as I have exactly the same thing - I assume you want, like me, to take the seal out to clean it?

Try putting some WD40 onto it and leave for a few hours and then try and undo it,this should do the trick.

My seal is shot to pieces and I need to replace it quickly.

You can get bits that used in a drill will bite in and shift stubborn screws. It wouldn't be fit to use again afterwards though.

As Grumpy says, several applications of WD40 should do it.

After the WD40, Irban, the usual way is to "shock" it by tapping the end of the screwdriver with a hammer. The reasoning is that it breaks the "seal" that has formed between the screw and the metal.
Just be extra careful because it's near the glass!

One trick that sometimes works is to try and tighten the screw - it has the same effect as tapping it, it breaks the seal.
