removing nail varnish from leather

Help! I have a dollop of cerise pink nail varnish on a brown leather sofa. How do I get it off?
I'm guessing varnish remover would damage the leather?

Many nail polish removers are acetone free nowadays.

I got some nail varnish on a leather bag. tried a dab of NVR (!) on a cotton bud.. big mistake! it's left a dull patch, albeit small and hidden by a handle.

Mwahahaha!. I've covered it with a throw, which looks quite nice actually. I'll get some acetone tomorrow, and have a go at it then.

You might try spraying some hairspray onto a cloth, and dabbing at the nail varnish itself, being careful not to get any on the leather. Finish off with a leather cleaner, if you have any. (Test a small area of leather first).
