Does anyone know how the crokus flower got it's  name?  (For instance, the hyacinth is named after a greek god) In America there was a band called Crokus, so I'm just curious as to 1) why a band would name themselves after a flower and 2) how did the flower get its name?

Many thanks......

Sorry to butt in, you two... I wanted to say that CROCUS has always been my favorite word. It sounds so fresh and 'crunchy'. Say it to yourselves now - Crocus, Crocus.
