My shower does not work before 6.15am works perfectly during the day.
Have had shower engineer out twice everything was fine.
Water board have checked the water pressure although done during the day and this was also fine !!!
Have resorted to buying a new shower as at my wits end and low and behold it is still the same !!!

Is it on an Economy 7 circuit?
Is this an electric instant shower? If yes then probably on some form of timed circuit. If not then I have no idea.

Presumably your shower also works during the day so this is no help in tracking the problem down.

If you turn on your bathroom taps (hot and cold) before 6:15, do they both work as well as they do during the day?

Hi thanks for your responses.
It is an electric instant shower but not on EC7 circuit and both taps work fine before 6.15 am. This is such as mystery !!
<<<also doesn't function well at that un Godly hour either ;-)
Do you mean no water comes out or the water is cold?
Are you in a shared housing block?
at what time does it stop working? if it is a whole 7 hours before there probably is an old E7 timer somewhere in the system they used to be fitted near the hot water tank or is there a time clock on an immersion heater.... the only other thing I can think of is a neighbour is on E7 and has a washing machine set to come on at that time and the local pipework isn't adequate to supply two large 'pulls'

The water runs cold and wont heat up. I live in a terraced property and I know my neighbour is not on EC7.
I work for an electricity company.
The shower I first had installed work perfectly at any time only since having the last two installed has the problem arisen.
if its running but running cold it sounds more like the pressure from the cold water system is too great...we had that problem and by reducing the pressure to the shower it could cope with heating the water later in the day with other drains on the sysstem the pressure may fall off gradually
My woman had the water board out to check the pressure, all they did was check it at ground level at the time of the visit and said it was ok. Sometimes her upstairs bathroom has so little pressure the taps just dribble. Blooming useless lot.
Is there a timing device connected between your Consumer Unit and the Shower itself, similar to your Immersion Heater timer ?
OG, they done as you asked, they are only responsible for incoming water pressure, not how it runs around the house, if you have a problem there you would need to call a plumber!

Thanks again for your responses.
I have had a plumber out sorry forgot to mention that !! He didn't find anything wrong !
The only timing devices I have in the house are the central heating and the water heater which is set between 2am and 3am.
Someone once told me the water board actually turn the water pressure down overnight but having questioned them about this they deny all knowledge.
Guess I'll just have to get up a little earlier and have a bath. Nightmare !!
We did, he said it was a general main pressure problem, the pipe goes striaght up no internal problem. As I said, useless.
Not that it solves your problem, but if you have a shower before going to bed the night before, do you really need one in the morning?
I guess that depends on how damp you made the bed by morning.
itronica, given that your original shower worked all of the time, and your latest shower works some of the time, then at the times your current shower doesn't work, what else could be different about your new setup versus your original one? There is only really: the water pressure (too low or too high) or the electrics (no electrics at that time of day, for some reason).

I think rowanwitch is onto something with the water pressure being too high. You could try switching on every tap in the house, then the shower, to see if that helped. If it did, you could investigate ways of reducing the pressure at the shower (to save water!).

Otherwise, it's probably the electrics...

> The shower I first had installed work perfectly at any time only since having the last two installed has the problem arisen.

Was a new circuit put in (or a different circuit used) when the first new shower was installed?

Does the current shower have a light on it to show that it's on? Do the lights look different before 6:15 and after 6:15?
Question Author
Thanks Ellipsis.
I don't think it is the electrics as nothing has changed from the first installation.
I will try all the taps in the morning to see if this makes any difference.
Thanks for your advice.

Does your shower have any indication that the electricity is connected and that it's working, e.g. a red power light? If so, is that light on if you use the shower before 6:15 AM?
