cavity wall insulation , is it any good?

I want to know how other people have found cavity wall insulation after they had it done.

Definitely Maureen .............. any insulation is good :o))))
You find the cavity insulation by looking in the little gap between the outer bricks and the inner blocks. It's generally pale yellow in colour.

Our local council put cavity wall insulation into all our houses in village some thirty years ago...great for a wee while..BUT...about ten - twelve years ago they spent a LOT of money removing bricks all over houses and pulling it all back out. Any rain penetrating outer skin of buildings was travelling via insulation to inner walls and terrible problems with dampness.
So no I would NOT reccommend. This is Ayrshire.
Just thought i mention, that if your house is over a certain age, it's not possible to have it done either.
naturally, a cavity wall is a requirement, older houses would have solid walls, lol.
