whos responsibility ?

in a block of eight flats , who is responsible for roof repairs ? people on the top floor, or is it shared responsibility with the bottom floor .? thanks .

I'm assuming the property is leasehold and you pay a maintenance fee. It is the landlord's responsibility but the cost should normally be shared between all the flats.

thanks chris , the flats are leasehold , and all rented , the problem is , the landlords downstairs say that the roof is not their responsibility , only the ground floor , but i dont think thats right .

You need to make a check of your lease, that should state who is responsible for maintaining the roof, and who is obliged to share the cost of paying for works.
