Hi, I live in a fairly new house (just over 2 years old) and the whole area is managed by a management company. Today, I have just received a letter from them saying we are breaching the convenant by having our sky dish on the side of our house and we have 30 days to move it. I knew nothing about this but after looking into it I found that it does state this in the documentation which there was far too much of to read hence the reason I missed it. My question is can they make us move it? It is going to cost us money to do this which we can't really afford and because it has been up for over 2 years why now? Our house is the end one so it is visible as you are driving up the street but the houses that are facing the other way to ours have their sky dishes fitted on the back so they are just as visible as ours is yet theirs is apparentley allowed and ours isn't. I can't see the difference myself. If we refuse to move it what will happen?

Yes they can make you move it.

If you refuse to move it they could take you to court to enforce it, and then you will be paying costs on top. If you still fail to, they can ask the court for permission to take it down, and bill you for that too.

Failure to read the covenants attached to the property is no excuse.
