DOes anyone know if we would need planning permission to build a sheep shed in a field on our smallholding. It would be approx 40 metres sqaure by 5 metres high, with block work round the bottom few feet then timber walls. Thanks

If you are an agricultural business, there are all manner of developments you can usually do using Permitted Development Rights. The situation depends on the size of your smallholding and what you are trying to do. You can look here at the 'rules' for PDR - scroll down to Part 6 agricultural buildings and operations and click on the link where it then explains what you can do. Or alternatively phone the Development Control Office at your local council and ask for advice.
