how does a stock exchange group such as the NYSE Group Inc. (ticker NYX) generate revenue? how does it get money? what would cause this stock to rise, and what factors would be responsible for any fall it may suffer?

It gets its money from fees and rental - it rents out space to the stockbrokers who work there and charges fees to the companies whose shares are registered to be traded there.

As for the rest go figure.
