The windows of my 9 month old Vectra keep steaming up more so when theres no on in it. I've checked under the mats and the carpets are not damp-there is no smell of damp. The windows are definitely closed.

Don't you mean 'misting' up?

Steam is what comes out of the kettles spout.
This happens to all cars parked outside in cold weather, especially overnight.

Heater radiator water loss, check the carpet under the brake/clutch pedals or the passengers side same area.
The heater Heater Matrix.
Well, my cars mist up if parked outside, they don't if they are in the garage.
In and out with wet shoes on can cause a bit of damp to stay in the car. Or even an umbrella thrown down onto the carpet.
have you got the recirculate air button pressed? it will do that too, is the heater getting up to temp?
and yes when its not running have you got anything damp in there? worth checking the rubber seals are all okay as well
tell him to book a hotel room ;o)
