What is the best way to start cleaning a couple of Brass objects that have green corrosion patches on them. Thank you

Wash the item(s) in hot soapy water first to remove grime and oil. Then make a paste of equal parts of flour, salt and vinegar. Apply the paste to the brass, let set for a few minutes then wipe clean. If heavily tarnished, you can use the same paste with a very fine steel wool pad (00, 0 or 1)...
buy a tin of brasso if they still do it
Use the Brasso after Clanad's method. On its own, Brasso won't cure the problem.
