Corded Curtain Rail

I have a "corded" Curtain rail where the "Cord" is a plastic ball-chain. To fit the wall-mounted tensioner I need to shorten this continuous "chain" as at present it pools on the floor. Does anyone know how to successfully shorten this chain by approx. 2 feet?

You'll have to get inside the curtain track and adjust the cord ends. Could this help?
