Ordinary bleach works a treat - fill the sink with half and half bleach & water and leave overnight. Fabulous shine and clean as clean.
Whoops, I just reread your answer and it's sink top - well, I guess bleach would still work if you paint it on ...
Cif stainless steel gel with polishing agents is absolutely brilliant.
Baby oil ..a few drops on a piece of kitchen paper and then buff it up with a dry piece....works on any stainless steel appliances .

lemon juice is great...cuts grease also
The best product I've found is called Shiny Sinks and is available in Tesco/Asda etc. It is mildly abrasive so it removes stains and marks. It also contains citiric acid to remove lime scale. Once you've washed and cleaned it., dry it with kitchen towels. I tried the baby oil thing mentioned above and it was absolute crap and left it looking worse than when I started.
