1. What does Gilman's story, The Yellow Wallpaper, reveal about gender relations in Victorian society?

2. According to Gilman, from where do men derive their authority over women and how is that authority enforced and perpetuated?

3. How is the main character kept confined in her room, and what does this suggest about the nature of the oppression of women during this historical period?

4. How does the main character resist and what is the cost of that resistance?

5.What does Gilman's physical description of the wallpaper represent?

6. By not naming the main character until the final scene, what do you think Gilman is suggesting about identity and complicity? And why does the author have the husband "faint" in the final scene?

You've posted in the wrong category, but that's probably irrelevant - I can't see many people rushing to tackle your lengthy... assignment. Even reading the two chapters would be a bit much, never mind answering the many and detailed questions.
Homework/ coursework is to be done by YOU...not us.
You might actually learn something about the treatment of women in Victorian society. Give it a go...I'm saying this as it's what's best for you. Not asking strangers to do the work for you.
I haven't even heard of the book.
I read it many years ago. I enjoyed it. It's actually a short story.
I might read it again.
chapter 18 and 19 of what? The Yellow Wallpaper is a short story. Her explanation of why she wrote it is even shorter

You're going to have to read your own chapters, I'm afraid. It shouldn't take you long.

I never mind answering homework questions but to answer yours I would have to read the book - and that’s not something I want to do. I can only suggest that in order to find the answers to your questions you read it.
