Has anyone any experience with asbestos panels in older houses. They are in the under stairs cupboard and when my daughter purchased the house in 2009 the survey did not mention this as I would have expected. It was only when a British gas engineer came and told her that he would not install a new boiler without the panels being removed that it was noted. However, a local plumber did renew the boiler. We are concerned now that some tiles are disintegrating. My daughter has had chemotherapy this year and we would like it removed. We are wondering if anyone else has had experience of these tiles and whether we have cause for complaint with the survey company. Many thanks for help and advice.

There is no legal requirement to have an asbestos survey carried out on a domestic property. This should answer your questions on what to do
