About a month ago i bought a Rosa Glauca in a pot and it has grown really well. I think that it should be planted out in the garden now and I was thinking of making one of my herbaceous borders larger to give the rose room to grow. ( I hope to make it like a standard tree)We have very chalky soil here and I should like to know if I should add ericaceous compost/ rose food to the soil and also is it a good time of year to plant it out. I am very much a novice in the garden so please excuse my ignorance !

Dig out and water the planting hole well .. keep watered for at least a couple of months. It will be fine. Bit of BF&Bone fertilizer around the hole too .. just a bit.
