OH and I are rather puzzled. A few weeks ago, on this section, we were bemoaning, not just the loss of one of our ceanothus bushes (from the frost) but that the other ceanothus bush had only come into leaf and was not flowering when all the other ceanothus bushes in the UK were looking beautifully purple and green. Now, all of a sudden, this bush has suddenly decided to come into flower. It's never flowered at this time of year before. I would imagine that the harsh frosts earlier this year have delayed its growth for a while. Very odd!

One of ours looked like a goner, pruned all the dead stuff off, late into leaf, late to flower, just finished... now so much growth it looks better than last year,,,, another one by the fence is just coming into flower but it is a different variety, still nearly a month late....It's happened across the garden things flowering about a month behind..and.because some things are flowering normally I've had some very strange colour combinations that I wouldn't normally have some rathe 'bright'
