Get something like this, making sure it reaches the floor, and weigh the ends down so cats cant walk through it. You get the breeze, but stop the insects and cats.

I have looked at these, but they `re not wide enough. Thanks.
What I did was to get sheets of sterling board(I made more than one) cut out two large pieces leaving effectively a frame and crosspiece. I then covered the frame with net(we can get it by the roll) and stapled it in place. Three hinges-the extra helps to reduce the wobble- fixed into place, making the opening both cat and insect-proof. For selected windows it was a simple frame with the same netting stretched over and stapled.

Thx for that idea. I was thinking of an easier way lol.
Get a second hand baby gate and fasten green plastic coated wire to the inside. These will expand to fit your door frame.

Buy net curtain, deep enough to reach floor, and wide enough to hang with a bit of a gather, and fix it on stretchable curtain wire. This then clips on to a hook at either side of the top of the door. Can be used when needed, and taken down when not.
What I do is scatter dog and cat repellent in front of the door, this keeps them away. I scatter some more after rain. It works.
