Like most Gardeners, I have problems with Slugs and Snails. but don't believe in killing them, so this year, for the first time, I put Copper Rings round my Courgettes, and they are aling, looking quite a bit sick. and this has never happened before, so, my question is, is there a chance that the Copper is affecting the plants?.

Dont know where you live, but where I am the weather hasn't been all that and mine have only just begun to take off. I grew them years ago when I lived in the south east and they grew like wildfire, but here its been a struggle.
I do use slug and snail killer and dont care as they had a good chomp at mine as soon as I planted them out. If anything eats my plants I get hopping mad.
Sorry forgot to say. Dont know about the copper problem, but I personally wouldn't have thought so.

Many thanks for coming back on this glenbar, I've grown Courgettes for years, with no problem,
This year, my first lot was scoffed overnight by the Slugs, which is why I am using the rings, this is also the first year they are ailing, healthy when planted out, which is why I asked this question.

Still, no matter, thanks again.
chopped up egg shell or nutshell, being sharp, may help protect them from slugs' approaches.
