when my day lilys stop blooming can I cut them back to the ground

Let them die down naturally, then you will be able to pull all the dead foliage off down to ground level.
you can, but the growing foliage is feeding the plant for survival through the winter and next years display. Cut them down and you will gradually lose your day lilies
Hi CJ, Great advice so far. Remove spent blooms and any seed pods that form. When a stalk is finished blooming, you can cut that close to the ground. Leave the foilage to feed the plant for next year. Newt
