Can anyone recommend something to kill garden slugs but not harm my dog or the grass? My teenage son took it upon himself to pour salt over the slugs (bork) and has left me with about 15 small patches of dead grass. Can these areas be cut out and replaced with bits of turf? thanks x

As for replacing the grass, you'll need to make sure you cut out an area slightly larger than the damaged turf and remove some of the soil underneath and replace with new top soil. If you leave any salt residues it will just kill the new grass.
